Alabama football news: Kadyn Proctor injured, Elijah Pritchett starts at LT

Alabama football had a surprise change to its starting lineup on Saturday for its season-opener against Western Kentucky. Elijah Pritchett went with the first-team offense to begin the game, in place of Kadyn Proctor.

Proctor started every game at left tackle for the Crimson Tide last season. He left the field with the Alabama training staff during pregame warmups on Saturday, after beginning the period in full uniform.

He was spotted on the sideline wearing a sling as the starting offense took the field. Proctor was wearing sweatpants and did not appear to be working with the training staff.

Pritchett made his first start for UA in his place. He had been battling with Wilkin Formby for the starting right tackle job throughout camp.

Formby eventually won the job, taking the field on the right side to start the WKU game. In other Alabama offensive line injury news, Jaeden Roberts started the game at right guard, after dealing with an injury toward the end of camp.

Alabama went three and out on its first drive. WKU’s TJ Finley then threw an interception to UA’s Keon Sabb.

Jalen Milroe rushed for a 12-yard touchdown to give Alabama an early lead. The game is being aired on ESPN.
