Alabama football lands in-state defensive lineman over Auburn, Tennessee

Alabama football landed its second commit in the 2026 recruiting class Thursday night.

Vodney Cleveland, a four-star defensive lineman from Parker High School in Birmingham, gave his pledge to the Crimson Tide over Auburn, Tennessee, Miami and more, he told On3.

Alabama offered Cleveland back in June.

Cleveland is the No. 95 overall prospect in the 2026 class, per the 247Sports Composite. He’s the No. 7 defensive lineman and No. 7 prospect in the state.

Cleveland is listed at 6-3, 305 pounds. He joins Dorian Barney, a four-star cornerback, in Alabama’s 2026 recruiting class. The class of two for the Crimson Tide currently ranks No. 20 in the country.

Meanwhile, Alabama is working to close out an elite 2025 recruiting class. The Crimson Tide‘s class of 23 commits lists No. 1 overall among all teams in the country per the 247Sports Composite. That’s after the 2024 recruiting class finished ranked No. 2 nationally.

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer has general manager Courtney Morgan and director of player personnel Bob Welton leading the recruiting efforts. Welton worked under Saban, and Morgan followed DeBoer from Washington.
