Alabama football lands in-state defender in 2026 class

Kamhariyan Johnson, a 2026 edge defender, has committed to Alabama football, he told On3 on Saturday.

Johnson is a 6-3, 262-pound prospect from Muscle Shoals. The 247Sports Composite lists him as a four-star player and the No. 35 edge in the 2026 recruiting class. Johnson is also ranked the No. 16 prospect in the state.

Johnson picked Alabama over Auburn, Miami, Ole Miss, Clemson, Southern Cal and others.

Johnson’s commitment gives Alabama five for the 2026 recruiting class so far. He joins five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds, four-star athlete Zyan Gibson, four-star edge Jamarion Matthews and four-star offensive lineman Chris Booker.

Johnson joins Gibson (Gadsden) as in-state commitments for Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer and general manager Courtney Morgan.

Johnson’s commitment landed just hours after the Crimson Tide’s A-Day practice ended, concluding spring practices.
