Alabama football lands ex-Texas A&M offensive lineman Kam Dewberry

Alabama football has landed an offensive lineman via the transfer portal.

Texas A&M offensive lineman Kam Dewberry will transfer to play for the Crimson Tide.

The Humble, Texas native spent three seasons with the Aggies. Dewberry was a four-star prospect, ranked No. 64 overall in the 2022 recruiting class per the 247Sports Composite.

He’s listed at 6-4, 330 pounds and has played in 32 games with eight starts.

In 2024, Dewberry played in 12 games but didn’t start any. He saw the most time at left guard in 2024 as a junior. The prior season, Dewberry played in 13 games and started three: Two at left guard and one at right guard.

As a freshman in 2022, Dewberry played in seven games and five starts.

Alabama will likely need to fill at least one guard opening before 2025. Tyler Booker, a left guard and captain, is the top-ranked guard available for the NFL Draft, per ESPN. He hasn’t yet revealed his intentions, but it would be surprising if he returns.

Bringing in Dewberry gives Alabama an experienced player to compete for the likely opening.

The transfer portal opened Dec. 9 and will remain open for about another week for all of college football.
