Alabama football lands commitment from four-star tight end Caleb Odom
Alabama football landed another commitment in the class of 2024 on Saturday, when tight end Caleb Odom announced he will be joining Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.
Odom is a four-star prospect from Carrollton High School in Georgia. He chose Alabama over a top five that also included Florida, Miami, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.
He was a Maxpreps junior All-American selection last season at Carrollton. He finished the season with 64 catches for 1,121 yards and 13 touchdowns.
His team made it all the way to the state finals with a 14-1 season. Odom became the second Carrollton player to commit to Alabama in recent days, joining interior offensive lineman Zykie Helton, who gave the Tide a verbal commitment in the class of 2026.
Odom is listed at 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds. He ranks as the No. 6 tight end nationwide according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Those ratings put him as the No. 12 overall player in Georgia, No. 66 nationally.
“Very fluid as a route runner and has excellent spatial awareness, which likely stems from a decorated hoops background,” 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivens wrote of Odom. “Owns a higher success rate in contested-catch situations as he does a nice job of consistently positioning himself to make a play and then securing the ball away from his body.”
Odom became the 14th commitment in the class of 2024 for Alabama. He is the first in the class to come from Georgia.
Before Odom’s commitment, the Tide’s class ranked No. 12 overall for 2024 according to the 247Sports composite.
