Alabama football lands commitment from 3-star WR Lotzeir Brooks

Alabama football had a big day on Saturday. Not only was it the Crimson Tide’s A-Day game, Kalen DeBoer’s first as head coach of the Crimson Tide, but UA also got a commitment in the recruiting class of 2025.

Lotzeir Brooks, a wide receiver who plays his high school football at Millville in New Jersey, announced he’ll join the Tide. Brooks is a three-star prospect according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

Brooks is listed as the No. 63 wideout in the class of 2025. Brooks is known as one of the fastest players in the class.

“Owns South Jersey records for career receiving yards (3,355) and career touchdown receptions (51) before playing a down of his senior season,” 247Sports national recruiting analyst Hudson Standish wrote of Brooks in his scouting report. “Combination of speed, short area quickness, and run-after-catch instincts make him extremely dangerous in the screen game and on other first-level throws. Quickly erases ground against off-coverage and can stretch the field vertically out of the slot.”

Brooks, who stands 5-foot-9 and weighs in at 170 pounds, chose the Crimson Tide over offers from Arkansas, Penn State and Wisconsin among others. He’s Alabama’s ninth commitment in the class of 2025.

The Tide’s class currently ranks eighth in the nation on the 247 composite. Brooks becomes the second wide receiver in the class, joining Southside’s Derick Smith.
