Alabama football holds steady in coaches poll after win at Texas A&M

Alabama football remained at No. 10 in the US LBM coaches top 25 poll following a 26-20 win over Texas A&M in College Station on Saturday.

The Associated Press media poll will be released at 1 p.m. this week. The Crimson Tide were No. 11 last week.

Nick Saban’s bunch played a sloppy game, full of penalties and other unforced errors, against the Aggies on Saturday. In the end it didn’t matter, as Jalen Milroe had a career day, along with Jermaine Burton and led the Crimson Tide to a win on the road.

Texas A&M was not ranked in either poll before the loss.

With the win, Alabama moved to 5-1 on the season, 3-0 in SEC play. The Crimson Tide will be back in action on Saturday, facing Arkansas at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The top 25 saw several notable teams fall throughout Saturday’s action. The only team to beat Alabama thus far this season, Texas, lost to Oklahoma, its first loss of the year.

Miami also fell Saturday, losing in heartbreaking fashion to Georgia Tech after fumbling with a chance to kneel out the clock for a win. The Hurricanes had been No. 17 both the coaches and media polls.

Notre Dame fell to Louisville on the road. The Fighting Irish were No. 11 in the coaches poll and No. 10 in the AP.

Georgia maintained its top spot in the coaches poll with a dominant win over Kentucky.
