Another Alabama football defender is expected to enter the transfer portal.

Damon Payne is expected to put his name into the transfer portal, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports/247Sports reported Tuesday morning.

Zenitz spent the past three seasons with the Crimson Tide as a backup defensive lineman. He tallied 30 tackles and 0.5 sacks over that time.

Payne worked as a rotational player on the defense this season, tallying 288 snaps per Pro Football Focus. Payne played in all 12 games.

Payne is a former five-star prospect, per the 247Sports Composite. He was the No. 24 overall player in the 2021 recrtu

The transfer portal has been open for about a week and will remain open for about two more weeks.
