Add another item in the “new” category for Alabama football this season under new coach Kalen DeBoer.

Instead of waiting to name captains until after the regular season like the Crimson Tide did under Nick Saban, Alabama announced the captains for the season on Tuesday.

Jalen Milroe, Malachi Moore, Tyler Booker and Deontae Lawson earned the captain designation for 2024.

Milroe and Moore were also named team captains in 2023. Dallas Turner, who went on to become a first-round draft pick for the Minnesota Vikings, was also a captain this past season.

All four players are expected to be vital for the 2024 season as returning starters on a team that experienced plenty of shakeup in the starting lineup from 2023.

Milroe, Moore and Booker all represented Alabama at SEC Media Days in Dallas a month ago.
