Alabama fans troll Arch Manning with GameDay sign ahead of Texas game
Nothing is out of bounds when it comes to “GameDay” signage in Tuscaloosa.
On Saturday, during ESPN’s pregame show production, Alabama fans made sure to troll Texas backup quarterback Arch Manning. The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning was a sought-after, five-star recruit. It was a recruiting battle which most elite teams in the country, including Alabama, had some level is interest is.

The last name along warrants attention. So, Alabama fans obliged as he was the subject of a sign which read, “Things Arch Manning has lost: a UT student ID, a chance at the Natty’s.”
“Arch Manning hasn’t even taken a snap yet and he’s already catching flak,” College GameDay said.
In January, Manning, the grandson of Archie Manning, began his first semester at Texas this week as an early enrollee. A student found Manning’s missing ID and said in a Snapchat post that they took the lost ID to the South End Zone building at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. But not before asking Manning what he was doing misplacing his ID.
Arch Manning didn’t play last week against Rice, but coach Steve Sarkisian said he had every intention of getting the freshman in the game.
“Quite frankly I had all intentions of playing Arch in that game,” Sarkisian said Thursday. “I didn’t think that the fourth quarter would go as fast as it did, and then I didn’t want to put him in there for the last minute and a half and use a game on that.”
