Alabama doctor not guilty in harassment case brought by female patients

A Morgan County jury on Wednesday acquitted Decatur doctor Michael Dick who was accused of harassment by female patients alleging they had been touched inappropriately during exams.

Dick had also been found not guilty of sexual abuse in 2022 in a case stemming from similar allegations. He has been acquitted of all the criminal charges alleged by patients.

The allegations against Dick became public in 2018 after several patients went to police with complaints. They also filed a lawsuit against the doctor that remains active in Morgan County. He has denied the allegations of wrongdoing in that case.

Dick’s harassment case was initially brought in Decatur municipal court, but he appealed to the circuit court in Morgan County, where he received a jury trial. The website of the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners shows that Dick’s medical license is suspended. Documents shows the board issued the suspension in 2019 after Dick was indicted.
