Alabama defensive lineman enters transfer portal: Report

It’s been a busy transfer portal day for Alabama football already. Defensive lineman Isaiah Hastings has reportedly entered the portal, joining wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks, who also entered on Thursday, according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.

Hastings did not see the field for the Crimson Tide this season. The redshirt freshman played in one game during his first season in Tuscaloosa, against ULM.

He came to Alabama as a four-star recruit in the class of 2022 out of Clearwater Academy International in Florida. Hastings is a native of Canada.

Alabama has reportedly seen four transfer portal entries since Saturday’s SEC championship game win against Georgia. The portal opened on Monday for a 30-day window that will run through Jan. 2.

The Crimson Tide still has at least one game left, heading to the Rose Bowl against Michigan on Jan. 1. Should Alabama win that game, it will face either Washington or Texas in the College Football Playoff national championship game.

Alabama players will receive an extra five-day window to enter the transfer portal after the final game of the season.

Quarterback Tyler Buchner was reported to be heading back to his old school Notre Dame, to play lacrosse. Wide receiver Thaiu Jones-Bell, who wasn’t on Alabama’s roster this season due to taking a medical year, also confirmed on social media that he was entering the transfer portal.
