Young appears to have become the Panthers’ preferred choice at the top of the draft and certainly is an enticing talent after throwing for 8,200 yards and producing a 79:12 TD:INT in his last two college seasons.

Those types of numbers and the fact he’s already got plenty of experience running a pro-style offense should be more than enough to overcome concerns about his size.

Meanwhile, Stroud, who at one point earlier in the offseason was a much stronger candidate to be taken No. 1 overall, certainly could be the very next signal-caller off the board.

The Ohio State product’s 8,123 passing yards and 85:12 TD:INT over the last two seasons are right in line with Young’s numbers. Kentucky’s Will Levis, who doesn’t have anywhere near the body of work of either Young or Stroud, is picking up a lot of momentum as the potential second quarterback taken overall.

However, with a Young-Levis parlay carrying a -285 price, banking on the Colts taking a chance and snapping up the much more dynamic Stroud at No. 4 overall is worth a roll of the dice at this price.

Anderson is widely considered the best edge rusher in the draft and the numbers certainly back it up.

The linebacker finished 5th in Heisman voting following the 2022 season and collected 204 total tackles, including a whopping 58.5 for loss and 34.5 sacks overall across 41 career college games.

The Texans which hold the No. 2 overall pick and just hired a defensive-minded head coach/former linebacker in DeMeco Ryans, have been linked heavily to Anderson in recent weeks with good reason.

Houston has been a sieve against the run for years and gave up an NFL-high 170.2 rushing yards per game last season.

A do-it-all, generational player like Anderson could naturally be a key component of a defensive rebuild, and considering he’s the No. 2 pick on NFL Mock Draft Database’s Consensus one-week-out Mock Draft, he makes for a very viable option at his price.

Second Cornerback Selected (+4000 at DraftKings)

This is admittedly the epitome of a longshot bet, but there are virtually no betting markets involving Branch for this year’s draft.

The standout defensive back actually profiles as a safety, but he’s being lumped in with corners for NFL Draft futures markets since there aren’t any specifically for safeties.

There are several pure corners projected to go ahead of Branch, but it’s not completely out of the realm of possibility that a team with a serious enough need at the position takes a chance on a player who collected 111 tackles, including 19.5 for loss, four sacks, three interceptions and another 20 passes defensed over 35 college games.

Branch was charged with only four missed tackles by Pro Football Focus during his Crimson Tide tenure and ran a 4.58 40-yard dash, so there’s certainly plenty to like for a team that may place a high value on a versatile skill set that has seen him play cornerback effectively in a pinch as well.
