Alabama country stars add third summer show at Wharf in Orange Beach
The Red Clay Strays’ takeover of the July 4 weekend on Orange Beach has ramped up another notch, with the band adding a third concert that goes on sale later this week.
The new date, which also features The Revivalists, puts the fast-rising Alabama group in rare company. Only a few other acts have booked three-night stands at the Wharf Amphitheater, a venue that hold approximately 10,000 people. Others include Widespread Panic, Phish and Luke Combs.
In November, Live Nation Entertainment initially announced a July 3 show at the Wharf Amphitheater, then a day later announced a July 4 show. The show on Thursday, July 3, is now virtually sold out, and Ticketmaster’s seating charts indicate that only a few hundred seats remain for the performance on Friday, July 4.
The newly added show is on Saturday, July 5 with general public ticket sales starting at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, through Ticketmaster. Presales start Tuesday. Tickets for the previous shows started at $39.50 plus fees.
The two previously announced shows feature an all-Alabama lineup including Muscadine Bloodline on both nights plus Justin Jeansonne and Laurie Anne Armour. The new show departs from that by featuring The Revivalists, a New Orleans group with a strong following in coastal Alabama, and South Carolina-based Band of Horses. It also will feature Abe Partridge, a singer-songwriter based in the Mobile area.
The Red Clay Strays formed around 2016 in the Mobile area and spent years honing their roots-rock sound through constant touring. Since releasing their 2022 album “Moment of Truth” they’ve gained increasing notice from publications such as Rolling Stone and Billboard. 2024 was a breakout year marked by a three-night stand at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, the release of the album “Made By These Moments” on RCA, a CMA nomination for Vocal Group of the Year and the honor of Top Country Duo/Group at the Billboard Music Awards.
