Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold will reportedly declare for NFL Draft
Alabama football cornerback Terrion Arnold is heading to the NFL Draft after his redshirt sophomore year according to Chris Low of ESPN. Arnold will reportedly join his defensive backfield counterpart Kool-Aid McKinstry in the draft.
After the Crimson Tide lost to Michigan in the College Football Playoff semifinals on Monday, Arnold was non-committal about his future in the locker room. After meeting with Nick Saban, the corner opted to try the draft.
With so much focus paid to McKinstry during the 2023 season, Arnold was frequently tested. He stepped up to the challenge, becoming a key member of the Tide’s run to the Rose Bowl.
Arnold was one of the players behind the creation of Alabama’s “LANK” acronym, which he claimed stands for “Let A Naysayer Know.” He and quarterback Jalen Milroe put the phrase on shirts, which became popular among Crimson Tide fans.
He finished the 2023 season with five interceptions, which tied for the lead in the SEC. He earned second-team all-SEC honors for his efforts.
Arnold also had 63 total tackles on the season, including 6.5 for loss. He forced a fumble and broke up 12 passes in addition to his interceptions.
Arnold joined Alabama as a four-star 247Sports composite recruit out of John Paul II Catholic in Florida. He redshirted his freshman season, before earning starts in seven games in 2022 and taking over the starting job full-time in 2023.
Alabama has seen a flurry of roster activity Wednesday and Thursday, between players opting to head to the NFL Draft and jumping into the transfer portal using the extra window given to Crimson Tide players after the CFP.
In addition to Arnold and McKinstry, Dallas Turner, Chris Braswell and JC Latham are known to be heading into the draft.
