Alabama caretaker charged with child abuse for allegedly tasing boy
An Alabama caretaker was arrested on child abuse charges after she allegedly used a stun gun on a 14-year-old boy who was fighting with his 7-year-old brother Friday.
Escambia County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Atmore home of Belinda Boyington, 57, around 11:30 p.m. Friday, Sheriff Heath Jackson told Fox 10.
Boyington was trying to break up a fight between the boy and his 7-year-old brother when she allegedly used the stun gun on the teen, the sheriff told the station. Jackson described Boyington as the boys’ caretaker.
Jackson said the boy who was tased suffered minor injuries.
Boyington was taken to the Escambia County Jail on a charge of aggravated child abuse, court records showed.
Boyington was released from the jail Monday after posting bond, according to jail records.
