Alabama bringing Charlie Strong back onto staff, report says
Charlie Strong is joining Alabama’s staff for a second time in four seasons, according to a report from Sports Illustrated.
The outlet reported Wednesday evening that Strong is being hired as an analyst.
Strong follows new Alabama defensive coordinator Kevin Steele from Miami, where Steele served as defensive coordinator and Strong was co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach last season.
Strong, 62, previously served as an analyst for Alabama in 2020. He previously served as head coach at Louisville (2010-13), Texas (2014-16) and South Florida (2017-19). Strong left Alabama in 2021 to join Urban Meyer on the staff of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
