Alabama-born Kaitlin Collins once again parodied on SNL
“Saturday Night Live” once again featured Prattville-native Kaitlan Collins in the show’s opening this weekend.
Collins, played by Chloe Fineman, sat behind the anchor desk at CNN’s “The Source” and told the audience that former President Donald Trump had not agreed to another presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. However, he had agreed to an edition of “Family Feud.”
Collins shared a link to the video on X, though without “her” introduction.
It wasn’t her first appearance as a character.
Last month, Fineman’s version of Collins appeared in a parody of Charlie XCX’s ” Talk Talk Show.” with Bowen Yang appeared as Charlie XCX, Jean Smart as event producer Susanne Bartsch. Yang’s Charlie XCX asked Fineman’s Collins questions outside her comfort zone in politics.
Collins – the real one – didn’t know anything about the sketch until her phone “started blowing up” while she was in Tuscaloosa for the Alabama-Georgia game on Sept. 28 and that Fineman’s eyebrows were “great.”
“The ‘Bama game had just ended, and I was still in the stadium” he said. “My phone was at about five percent and I thought it was about the game.”
“No notes?” Miller asked.
“No notes,” Collins said.
In the podcast, Collins also commented on Megyn Kelly referred to her as a “cold-hearted bitch,” saying she should smile more.
“I mean, I really can’t,” Collins said. “I don’t have anything on that.”
Collins said she feels the election is “slipping through my fingers” with less than a month left.
“I’m sad about that,” she said. “I love the election and I don’t actually want it to be over and I think I’m the only person who feels that way.”
Collins is probably still in recovery Sunday from the Alabama-South Carolina game – a nail-biting 27-25 win by the Crimson Tide.
