Alabama basketball to play exhibition game in Huntsville
The 2024-25 Alabama basketball schedule already had plenty of intriguing and tough matchups. Why not add one more as an exhibition game?
The Crimson Tide will face Memphis on Monday, Oct. 28 at Propst Arena in Huntsville, Von Braun Center announced Monday. That’s one week before Alabama officially begins the season against UNC Asheville on Nov. 4 at Coleman Coliseum.
Tickets will go on sale for the Memphis exhibition game on Friday, Aug. 23.
Alabama’s non-conference schedule also includes Arkansas State, McNeese State, Purdue (away), Illinois (Birmingham), Houston (Las Vegas), Notre Dame/Rutgers (Las Vegas), UNC (away), Creighton, North Dakota (away), Kent State and South Dakota State.
The Memphis game won’t count, but it’s another intriguing non-conference opponent nonetheless. The Tigers reached the NCAA Tournament each of the past two seasons but has yet to make it past the first weekend since 2009.
Meanwhile, Alabama is fresh off the first Final Four appearance in program history. Alabama coach Nate Oats will look to build on that success this year with what is expected to be one of the best teams in the country.
