Alabama basketball locks up crucial player for next season
Aiden Sherrell isn’t going anywhere.
Alabama men’s basketball has secured him for another season. Yea Alabama, Alabama’s NIL collective, and Sherrell announced on Instagram on Saturday he had re-signed for the 2025-26 season.
Sherrell is an important piece to bring back with the departure of starting center Clifford Omoruyi, who exhausted his eligibility. Sherrell is a former five-star McDonald’s All-American in this past year’s recruiting class.
The 6-10 big man can make plays near the rim but also knock down 3-pointers. A player like that is an asset. Especially as Sherrell continues to develop.
“I’ve learned so many things,” Sherrell said of his freshman season. “I learned how to play an NBA style offense. I learned how to build in every aspect of basketball. Even off the court, I’ve learned to be a better person. These guys taught me so much and the coaching staff taught me so much. I’m just grateful for sure.”
In addition to Sherrell, Alabama added Bucknell center Noah Williamson from the transfer portal. The two figure to lead the Crimson Tide’s efforts in the front court this upcoming season.
