Alabama and Stetson’s NCAA regional elimination game delayed, first pitch rescheduled
Alabama baseball will have to wait a little while longer to try and save its season.
After first pitch was scheduled for 11 a.m. CT in the Tallahassee NCAA regional, bad weather in the area forced a delay to later in the afternoon. The Crimson Tide will play Stetson in a win-or-go-home contest now at 2:30 p.m., the contest will air on ESPN. The winner will play the loser of tonight’s matchup between Florida State and UCF, the latter of which beat Alabama 8-7 on Friday night.
Alabama’s (33-23, 13-17 Southeastern Conference) Ben Hess will take the mound. He has a 5.98 ERA in 61.2 innings pitched, last throwing in a win on May 18 at Auburn. In his last two starts, Hess, a junior, has struck out 19 batters while walking three. Stetson (40-21) has won seven of its last nine games and entered the region as the four-seed.
