Alabama 5-star WR commit Ryan Williams receives another honor
Reigning Alabama Mr. Football Ryan Williams has been named the MaxPreps Alabama football Player of the Year.
It was the latest award for the standout wide receiver, who announced last week he was reclassifying into the Class of 2024.
The Alabama commit caught 72 passes for 1,324 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2023. He also rushed for 261 yards and seven scores, threw a TD pass and returned two kickoffs and one punt for TDs.
Last week, he was the Alabama MVP of the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic. He caught a pair of TD passes in Alabama’s 26-17 victory.
Williams has said, although he is eligible to sign Wednesday, he doesn’t plan to sign until Feb. 9, his 17th birthday.
Florida QB commit DJ Lagway (Willis, Texas) was named the National High School Football Player of the Year.
