Here are AL.com’s SEC football players of the week for Week 12 of the 2023 season:

Offense

Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU — Daniels continued his assault on the LSU and SEC record books by accounting for 509 yards and eight touchdowns in a 56-14 win over Georgia State. The senior from San Bernardino, Calif., completed 25 of 30 passes for 413 yards and six touchdowns and rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries.

Defense

Nathaniel Watson, LB, Mississippi State — Watson was a tackling machine in the Bulldogs’ 41-20 win over Southern Miss, collecting 21 stops to go along with 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. The senior from Maplesville was joined in the parade by fellow Bulldogs linebacker Jett Johnson, who had 18 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack and an interception.

Special teams

Harrison Mevis, K, Missouri — Mevis was perfect on four field goals in a 33-31 win over Florida, including the 30-yard game-winner with five seconds remaining. The senior from Warsaw, Ind., also had field goals of 22, 38 and 24 yards, made all three extra points and totaled six touchbacks on eight kickoffs.
