AL.com Power 25 HS Rankings: Who made the biggest jump in Week 1?
Three Class 7A teams – Fairhope, Baker and Austin – all joined the AL.com Power 25 rankings this week after big wins to open the season.
Austin defeated Hartselle 28-17 in its first game.
Baker, behind Mississippi State QB commit Josh Flowers, upset Theodore 36-20, while Fairhope rallied to be Spanish Fort 17-14.
The AL.com Power 25 is a weekly ranking of high school football teams in Alabama regardless of classification.
Two of the biggest movers this week were Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa and Vestavia Hills, both of which jumped into the Top 10.
Vestavia defeated last year’s Class 6A runner-up Mountain Brook 35-10 and jumped from No. 14 to No. 6. Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa defeated Southaven, Miss., 43-0 and moved to No. 8.
