Airplane makes emergency landing on beach in Florida Panhandle
That’s something you don’t see every day.
The serenity of a sunny day on the beach was disrupted for beachgoers Monday as an airplane landed right there on the white sand of a beach in the Florida Panhandle.
The Walton County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office said a private Cessna aircraft landed on Miramar Beach, about nine miles east of Destin, Monday afternoon.
The aircraft reported engine failure through Eglin Air Force Base Approach Control, who assisted the aircraft in making the emergency landing along with the executive tower at Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.
The sheriff’s office said there were no injuries to anyone on the plane or the beach.
