AHSAA soccer polls: Oak Mountain boys, girls claim No. 1 in first ‘Super Poll’

The Alabama High School Athletic Association soccer coaches are in agreement – and if season records mean anything, they’re absolutely right – in choosing the top teams in the first “Super Poll” of the year.

Oak Mountain High School’s boys and girls are ranked No. 1 in the Super Poll, which ranks the top 10 teams in the state regardless of classification. The Eagles are also both No. 1 in the Week 5 Class 7A polls – where the boys have been all season and the girls have been for the past two weeks after supplanting No. 2 Auburn.

The Oak Mountain boys are 14-0 on the season while the girls are 11-0-2.

Oak Mountain’s teams are accustomed to lofty rankings and excellence in soccer. The girls have won four state championships and the boys are tied for second in AHSAA history with Grissom and Randolph with 8 championships, behind all-time leader John Carroll’s 11 titles. The Eagles are defending champs on the boys side.
