Hartselle’s boys soccer team beat Gadsden City 3-1 to open the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A state playoffs at home on Friday. The Tigers improved to 21-3-2 on the season with the win.

Owen Bennich scored a goal and assisted on the two others.

Luke Vinson and Hunter Lawrence got the other Hartselle goals.

The Tigers will play the winner of the Cullman-Fort Payne game on Monday. Cullman will play at Fort Payne on Saturday at 7 p.m.
