The AHSAA coaches’ soccer polls have only one change at the top in Week 9 as Homewood has moved into the No. 1 position in Class 6A after a six-week run by Mountain Brook. The Patriots are 13-2-2 on the season and are now followed by Gadsden City (16-2-1), Pelham (13-3-3) and Mountain Brook (17-3-1).

Homewood was ranked second in the preseason poll behind Fort Payne and moved into the top spot for Weeks 1, 2 and 3 before Mountain Brook took over.

The rest of the boys’ No. 1 teams are Oak Mountain in the Super Poll – top 10 regardless of classification – and in 7A, Southside-Gadsden in 5A, Montgomery Catholic in 4A and Susan Moore in 1A/3A.

Spain Park’s girls are No. 1 in the Super Poll and in Class 7A with a 17-0 record. The rest of the top teams are Mountain Brook in 6A, Springville in 5A, Westminster Christian of Huntsville in 4A and Donoho in 1A/3A.
