After allegedly swimming away in police chase, Mobile man reports vehicle stolen, gets arrested

A 25-year-old Mobile man is facing criminal charges for allegedly leading police on an elaborate chase Tuesday that ended with him ditching his vehicle, swimming across a muddy creek, and later calling to report his vehicle stolen.

The short pursuit ended on Gimon Circle where Nettles reportedly exited the vehicle and swam across Eslava Creek, according to police.

Later in the night, Nettles called police to report his vehicle was stolen. Through the course of the investigation, officers Nettles was the driver of the vehicle who led officers on the earlier pursuit.
