Aaron Rodgers on Robert F. Kennedy Jr. list of 2024 vice presidential candidates
Robert F. Kennedy, running as an independent presidential candidate, has approached New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers about serving as a running mate for November’s election, according to The New York Times.
And, according to the report, the former Green Bay Packers quarterback has “welcomed the overtures.”
Rodgers, 40, and Kennedy has talked “pretty continuously” over the past month, per The Times. Rodgers is on a list with former Minnesota governor and professional wrestler Jesse Ventura. Kennedy campaign press secretary Stefanie Spear confirmed to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Kennedy is considering both Rodgers and Ventura as running mates “along with others on a short list.”
Rodgers has already said he plans to vote for Kennedy for president.
Kennedy is an environmental lawyer who is the son of Robert F. Kennedy. He has built a platform based on his opposition to vaccines.
Rodgers, who missed most of last season with a torn Achilles, has said before he’s “an athlete, not an activist,” but has repeatedly shared opinions on public and political issues while appearing on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show.”
