A few strong storms possible again today in Alabama

A few strong to severe storms will be possible again on Wednesday in Alabama.

NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather in place again for most of the state. The only places not in the Level 1 risk are the coastal areas.

A Level 1 risk means that isolated severe storms will be possible. The strongest storms could have damaging winds, hail and heavy rain, according to the National Weather Service. The tornado risk is low.

The most likely time for storms will be this afternoon into the evening. Storms are expected to wane after sundown.

Rain and storms will also be possible in Alabama through the rest of the week, but as of Wednesday no widespread severe weather is expected after today.

Temperatures are expected to be near-average for early July, with highs each day in the upper 80s to low 90s.
