A-Day admission is free, but Alabama is charging fans for these perks
Alabama football might not be charging for admission to April 12’s A-Day event at Bryant-Denny Stadium. However, fans looking to spend money that day will have plenty of ways to do so.
The Crimson Tide is selling several premium experiences for the event, which Alabama athletics described as a “practice” instead of a spring game as A-Day has been traditionally. The experiences are available on the UA athletics website.
The most expensive upgrades available are $500. One of them allows a child, aged 12 and under, to deliver a ball to the officials on A-Day, while being featured on the video boards at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The other, also for a child, lets them join Alabama’s captains on the field. The “kickoff captain” will also be shown on the stadium screens.
For those without a spare $500 to throw around, cheaper experiences are also available. For $30, fans can tour the locker room at Bryant-Denny Stadium, picking from various time slots on April 12.
Traditionally, spots along the Walk of Champions have been first-come, first-served, to those who wanted to show up early and greet the Crimson Tide on its way into the stadium. For A-Day, front row slots will be different, going for $50 a pop.
$50 is also the going rate for a message on the videoboards during the event. Before that, fans can attend the Tide Pride breakfast, with Kalen DeBoer and Greg Byrne speaking, for $30.
More conventional upgrades are also available, including suites, better parking and club access. On the NIL side, UA will hold an autograph session for Yea Alabama members after the practice.
The exact format for A-Day has not been revealed. The traditional game, with players splitting into two teams, was not played last year, and DeBoer said early in spring practice that it will be “modified” for 2025.
“As we go through the spring, we’ll continue to figure out where we’re at, to see what we want to do when it comes to the day itself,” DeBoer said on March 3. “So we want to make it a great celebration for our fan base. We want to put some football out there because we know everyone associated with our program can’t wait for April 12, but we also gotta do what’s right for us. So that’s kind of something as we get closer that I can probably give you more info on.”
A-Day is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. CT on April 12.
