A change is coming to Costco gas stations
Costco is extending the hours of its members-only gas stations nationwide.
According to Men’s Journal, the wholesale club has announced that most of its fuel stations will now stay open until 10 p.m., with some locations also opening earlier in the morning.
“Generally, our stations are now staying open an hour later than they did previously, with some opening earlier as well,” Costco CEO Rob Vachris told investors in an earnings call earlier this year, reports Quartz.
In February, Costco announced it would keep its gas stations open past its warehouse hours.
The extended hours were:
- Monday-Friday: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Saturday: 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Sunday: 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In 2024, Costco announced it would raise its rates for the first time in seven years.
In May, Costco announced a partnership with Affirm, to offer a payment plan on some online purchases. The Buy Now, Pay Later option will allow Costco shoppers to use Affirm at checkout to pay over time. Customers will have to pay interest on their purchases, ranging from 10% to 36%.
“As summer approaches, we’re seeing more consumers turn to Affirm to prepare for the season ahead—whether it’s outdoor entertaining essentials, like a new barbecue or patio furniture, a storage shed, or a new set of appliances,” Pat Suh, Affirm’s SVP of Revenue said in a statement. “Costco members in particular know the value of planning ahead and buying in bulk. We’re excited to offer them an alternative to traditional credit, helping them confidently manage their spending on larger purchases without hidden fees.
