New Orleans- born rapper Juvenile made a stop in Birmingham to celebrate 25 years since the release of his classic hit album, ‘400 Degreez.’

The album went 4-times platinum when it was released in 1998 with hit songs like “Ha” and “Back That Azz Up.” The rapper is also known for other popular songs like “Slow Motion,” “Project Chick” and “Hot Boys” featuring Lil’ Wayne, B.G., Turk, and Big Tymers.

Juvenile has always had a huge fan base in Birmingham, and that showed during his performance in front of hundreds of fans at Avondale Brewery on Sunday. The rapper performed for about 45 minutes, and in the middle of his set he thanked the crowd for supporting him through the years while wiping his forehead with a towel, “This that Alabama heat, boy!”

“DJs have been supporting his music since he first started,” Birmingham disc jockey DJ Gorgeous said. “His music is the epitome of hip-hop. We can still drop a Juvenile song in the club, and people will go crazy like he just made the song yesterday. We appreciate the love he’s shown us throughout the years and on his 25th anniversary.”

“It’s exciting to see him when he comes to Birmingham because he brings the nostalgia back from the early 2000s and the late 90s where hip-hop really got its wings to take off where it is today,” business owner and Juvenile fan Andrew Jones said.
