‘MasterChef’ season 13 premiere: How to watch, where to live stream

Gordon Ramsay’s MasterChef is back for its 13th season set to premiere on FOX tonight at 8/7c.

This season, officially named MasterChef: United Tastes of America, will include a new twist as the home chefs work in teams based on the region of the country in which they represent: The West, Northeast, Midwest and South.

This allows the opportunity for those who fall short in challenges to possibly be saved by a top performer on their team. However, later in the season, the teams will dissemble and leave every chef to fend for themselves.

How do I watch MasterChef without cable?

Those who want to watch MasterChef, but have already ditched regular cable, can still live stream the season premiere with FuboTV or DirecTV Stream.

New episodes will also be available to stream the following day with Hulu.

If you’re unsure which of the two live streaming services will best suit your entertainment needs, here’s the breakdown.

What is FuboTV and DirecTV Stream?

Both FuboTV and DirecTV Stream are meant for those looking for an alternative to a regular cable subscription.

FuboTV considers itself a sports-focused streaming service, but overall, its standard package comes with over 100 live channels for $74.99 a month after its free trial. These channels include ESPN, ABC, NBC, CBS, TLC, MTV and much more.

FuboTV also comes with a variety of shows and movies users can watch on-demand along with the option to record your favorite TV shows.

DirecTV Stream is similar to FuboTV in that it offers many of the same channels and features. At $64.99 a month with a free trial, its base package comes with a little over 75 live TV channels.

Those interested can check out all of DirecTV Stream’s channel packages here.

What is MasterChef about?

The official description of MasterChef season 21 is as follows:

Gordon Ramsay, acclaimed chef Aarón Sánchez and renowned restaurateur Joe Bastianich return for the ultimate cook-off, as the top home cooks from four parts of America (West, Northeast, Midwest and South) battle it out for their region.

The home cooks face a multitude of cooking trials, including a state fair challenge, a series of iconic mystery box challenges, cooking a meal at Dodger Stadium, and the fan-favorite tag team event, where they must create a Michelin-star quality three-course meal.

Only one home cook wins it all and takes home the cash prize of $250,000 and the title of America’s MasterChef.
