âGameDayâ host Rece Davis reacts to ESPN letting David Pollack go
Rece Davis called David Pollack “class personified” when reacting to the news that ESPN let Pollack go on Friday.
Davis, host of “GameDay,” took to social media to share his feelings on Pollack, a “GameDay” analyst he calls his little brother.” ESPN let go a number of on-air personalities Friday.
“Class personified,” Davis tweeted. “I’ve joked for years that David Pollack is the little brother I never wanted. Truth is, he’s as good a man & as good a friend as I could’ve ever hoped for,” Davis wrote. “He’s a brother to me for life. He’s a man of God. He’s a selfless teammate, an exemplary family man.

“… Tough day. But as he alludes to in the video, who can be against him. (Romans 8:31). And whatever is next for David, he will crush it.”
The cuts are part of the plan by The Walt Disney Co. to lay off thousands of employees – including ESPN as part of a previously announced plan to eliminate 7,000 jobs this year.
The job cuts include entertainment, ESPN, parks, experiences and products. The company previously said that it doesn’t expect the job cuts to impact hourly frontline operations roles at its parks and resorts.
Disney CEO Bob Iger had announced in February that the company was going to cut about 7,000 jobs as part of an ambitious companywide cost-savings plan and “strategic reorganization.” The job cuts amount to about 3% of the entertainment giant’s global workforce.
