‘Time of Essence’ miniseries premiere: How to watch, where to stream

The all new docuseries Time of Essence is scheduled to premiere on OWN Friday. Aug. 18 at 9/8c.

Time of Essence will highlight the ways Essence magazine has informed and reflected Black culture in America over the past 50 years with firsthand commentary from the icons and trailblazers, never-before-seen footage and exclusive behind-the-scenes moments, according to OWN.

The miniseries will be available to live stream via Philo or FuboTV, both of which offer free trials for new subscribers.

What is Philo?

Philo is considered one of the cheaper live streaming services available as it allows users to stream over 70 live TV channels for just $25 a month.

Popular channels offered with Philo include the Hallmark Channel, MTV, AMC, HGTV, History Channel, Discovery Channel, CMT, TLC, BET and more.

The live streaming service also offers unlimited DVR along with various movies and TV shows users can watch on-demand.

What is FuboTV?

FuboTV is meant for those looking for an alternative to a regular cable subscription, but with better channel options.

FuboTV considers itself a sports-focused streaming service, but overall, its standard package comes with over 100 live channels for $74.99 a month after its free trial. These channels include ESPN, ABC, NBC, CBS, TLC, MTV and much more.

FuboTV also comes with a variety of shows and movies users can watch on-demand along with the option to record your favorite TV shows.
