Who does Alabama football play next? What to know about Tennessee

The Third Saturday in October rivalry is about to enter a new chapter.

With Nick Saban no longer the coach, two South Dakota natives are leading the programs facing off in the historic rivalry in Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer and Tennessee’s Josh Heupel.

Both are trying to get their programs back to elite football after strong starts but recently rocky games the past two weeks. Alabama is fresh off a close win over unranked South Carolina following a loss on the road to unranked Vanderbilt, though the Commodores were the top vote recipient outside the AP poll top 25 this week.

Alabama and Tennessee are set to play at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee. The game will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN+.

Up next for Alabama football

No. 7 Alabama (5-1, 2-1 SEC) will travel to play No. 11 Tennessee (5-1, 2-1).

It marks the first trip back to Neyland Stadium for the Crimson Tide since 2022, when the Vols broke their long-standing losing streak to Alabama and Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide avenged the 2022 loss by beating Tennessee in Tuscaloosa in 2023, but Alabama hasn’t had a chance to play the Vols in Knoxville again until this week.

Tennessee has had a somewhat similar past two games as the Crimson Tide. The Vols are fresh off a win over unranked Florida in overtime. The week before that, Tennessee lost to unranked Arkansas on the road.

The Vols otherwise won their first four games against Chattanooga, NC State, Kent State and Oklahoma. None of those teams are ranked anymore in the AP Top 25.

Quarterback Nico Iamaleava leads the offense. He has tallied 1,219 passing yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions.

Running back Dylan Sampson has been the top scorer for the team; He has rushed for 699 yards on 118 carries and 15 touchdowns.

TV, radio, broadcast info for next Alabama game

The Crimson Tide will be back on ABC once again this Saturday. It marks the third game for Alabama on the network this season. Alabama has been on ESPN, FOX and SEC Network this season, too. The Crimson Tide Sports Network will also have the game on radio with Chris Stewart and Tyler Watts behind the mics in the booth.
