Country singer stops concert to help wife deliver their baby on a tour bus
It is a safe bet that Brantley Gilbert won’t soon forget 2024.
The singer helped saved one of his best friends, fellow country music star Colt Ford after he had a massive heart attack back in April, and on Friday night Gilbert left the stage during a show so that he could head out to the tour bus and help deliver his newborn son.
It sounds like something that would make one heckuva movie one day.
According to Taste of Country, Gilbert was performing in Tupelo, Mississippi Friday night, and was four songs into his show when he left the stage for about an hour to help his wife deliver their third child.
In a video posted by a fan at the show, Gilbert can be seen returning to the mic, the emotion obvious in his voice while he says, “We got a baby, Mississippi.”
He then received hugs and hand slaps from the members of his band while the crowd cheered.
He then got the show rolling again.
Gilbert shared a video to Instagram giving a behind the scenes glimpse of what happened.
“So last night might have been the craziest night of my life,” he wrote in the caption along with the video. “Watching such an amazing woman do such and amazing thing is something I’ll never forget. Thank you to our road family for rallying around us, Brittany Thornton for helping us bring this little dude into the world, Tupelo, Mississippi for showing us made love and support, and most of all … Amber Gilbert, for letting me love you and showing me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you.”
