Bay Minette police have charged a 37-year-old man with murder after a fatal shooting Saturday night.
Police Chief Chief Al Tolbert said the incident happened Saturday at about 7:58 p.m. in the 400 block of East Banyan Street.
Officers called to the area found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He died later at North Baldwin Hsopital.
Dwight Lanell Pettway was arrested at the scene and a firearm was recovered, Tolbert said.
Pettway has been charged with murder and is being held in the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Correction Center without bond.
Investigators believe the incident resulted from an argument and fight between the victim and Pettway while the two were attending a small gathering at a residence.
