The crazy Kadyn Proctor block you might have missed in Alabama vs. Georgia

Kadyn Proctor has only played two games for Alabama football this season, but he has shown minimal signs of rust.

Proctor, who missed the first two games because of an injury, has allowed only one pressure and was not penalized against Wisconsin or Georgia, per Pro Football Focus.

The most impressive thing he has done won’t show up on a stat sheet, though.

During one moment against the Bulldogs this past Saturday, the left tackle managed to block two Georgia defenders at once while pass blocking.

Two Bulldogs came off the right side of the defense, and left guard Tyler Booker was engaged with an interior rusher. So Proctor was all that stood between two defenders and quarterback Jalen Milroe.

Proctor managed to get a hand on each and slow them both down.

“That was a big one,” Alabama offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic said Wednesday. “They had more than we can block. The quarterback knew it. He felt like he could move a little bit away and get it out quickly. Proctor did a tremendous job of taking two. In those situations, you’ve got to block yours. If you can just take the hit off the other one, but he really slowed them both down. What it says is he was locked in. He understood the protection. He understood the situation. And he did what he can do and was able to slow down two guys.”

Alabama went on to win 41-34 and now prepares to face Vanderbilt (2-2, 0-1 SEC) on Saturday (3:15 p.m. CT, SEC Network) in Nashville.

Kapilovic said Proctor’s hard work through the summer and into preseason camp is paying off. The coach expected to see some rust from Proctor in the Wisconsin game, with Proctor not having played in a game since the Rose Bowl, but Kapilovic didn’t see much.

“There are not many humans walking this earth as big as him who move like him,” Kapilovic said. “I’ve never seen it. He wants to get better. He works every day. He asks questions. He’s taking coaching and you see his technique getting better. I really love the trajectory he’s on. The sky is the limit for that guy.”
