Third suspect arrested in shooting at Walmart in Mobile

Mobile police have arrested the third and final suspect they alleged was involved in the shooting at a Walmart self-checkout line that injured two people.

Jimaurice Pierce, 19, was arrested Thursday in connection with the Dec. 27 shooting at the Walmart located at 101 E. I-65 Service Road South, said Cpl. Katrina Frazier.

On Dec. 29, Karmelo Denks, 18, was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and reckless endangerment while 19-year-old Darrius Rowser was charged earlier this month.

Police said two groups met as one was entering the store while the other was in the checkout area at about 8:30 p.m. Dec. 27, and gunfire was exchanged. Two people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, Rowser is also a suspect in a Dec. 16 home invasion in which three men forced their way into a home in the 2000 block of Dukes Avenue. The three assaulted one victim, fired shots at another as he fled and stole property.

Additionally, police say, Roswer will be charged in a shooting that took place early in the morning of Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Paparazzi Club, a downtown venue on Dauphin Street. Four people were injured by gunfire in that case. Another suspect, John McCarroll, 28, has been charged with assault in that case.
