LSU’s Harold Perkins out for season with torn ACL
LSU linebacker Harold Perkins is officially out for the remainder of the 2024 season with a torn ACL in his right knee, Tigers coach Brian Kelly confirmed Monday.
Perkins, a preseason All-American, was injured during the fourth quarter of the Tigers’ 34-17 victory over UCLA this past Saturday. A junior, Perkins had been expected to enter the NFL draft after this season, his third at LSU.
“Certainly an injury that we feel terrible about, especially for Harold and the work that he’s done,” Kelly said, via ESPN. “We’ll have somebody else step up. … These are difficult, but we’ve got really good players that can come in.”
No. 14 LSU (3-1) hosts South Alabama (2-2) in a non-conference game on Saturday night. That game kicks off at 6:45 p.m., with TV coverage on the SEC Network.
