The Hoover Health Care Authority will begin work on a new ambulatory surgical center and diagnostic center following a ruling Wednesday from the State Health Planning and Development Agency.

The agency unanimously approved Hoover’s Certificate of Need (CON) application, after eight months of consideration, at a final hearing Wednesday morning, according to a recent release. This application is required before any health facility in Alabama can partake in major capital expenditures or expansions, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
