Two people were killed in a Walker County crash between an SUV and a tractor trailer.

Alabama State Troopers on Wednesday identified the fatality victims as Charles E. Calloway, 79, and Delores G. Burgess, 85. Both lived in Jasper.

The crash happened at 4:30 p.m. Monday on Arkadelphia Road near Alabama 69, about two miles north of Jasper.

Senior Trooper Cody Farrar said Calloway was driving a Chevrolet Equinox that was struck by the Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer driven by 26-year-old David M. McDaniel of Madison.

Calloway and Burgess, who was his passenger, were both pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation is ongoing by troopers.
