Bo Nix scores his first NFL touchdown for Denver Broncos

A starter in his first NFL game, quarterback Bo Nix scored his first NFL touchdown on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter of the Denver Broncos’ season-opening game on Sunday.

The rookie’s touchdown run allowed Denver to cut the Seattle Seahawks’ lead to 26-20 with 2:09 to play at Lumen Field. The Broncos’ first touchdown of the game capped a seven-play, 54-yard drive.

Nix didn’t get an opportunity for another touchdown. The Seahawks ran out the clock on a six-point victory.

A former Pinson Valley High School and Auburn standout, Nix joined the Broncos as the 12th selection in the NFL Draft on April 25.

Nix won a quarterback competition with Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson, and his teammates selected him as a captain – the first rookie to hold that responsibility for the Broncos since Floyd Little in 1967.
