Anniston police are investigating after a man was found shot dead on a street in the city.

Officers responded to the 300 block of Eden Hills Road on Sept. 1 on a report of a deceased male laying on the ground, Capt. Emily McCullars said Friday.

The investigation revealed the victim, identified as 23-year-old Anniston resident Devonte Moore, suffered from gunshot wounds.

The investigation into Moore’s death was ongoing as of Friday, and McCullars said the department is pursuing leads in the case.
