Live updates: Kalen DeBoer talks Alabama football on ‘Hey Coach’ radio show before USF game

After his Alabama football squad blew out Western Kentucky 63-0 in his debut as head coach, Kalen DeBoer makes his return to the airwaves on Wednesday. DeBoer is set to appear on the “Hey Coach” radio show on the Crimson Tide Sports Network.

DeBoer and Alabama are set to face South Florida on Saturday, at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Bulls put up quite a fight against UA last season in Tampa, forcing the Tide to escape with a 17-3 victory, a margin aided by a late touchdown.

Alabama will also honor DeBoer’s predecessor, Nick Saban on Saturday. The gridiron at Bryant-Denny Stadium will be renamed Saban Field during a pregame ceremony at the Walk of Champions, and the former coach will be recognized at halftime.

DeBoer is scheduled to take to the microphone around 6:30 p.m. CT from Baumhower’s Victory Grille in Tuscaloosa. Follow along here for live updates.

— Keon Sabb will be tonight’s player guest. Sabb had two interceptions against WKU, earning the SEC’s defensive player of the week award.

— DeBoer joins the show. Says he’s working to make sure players are comfortable throughout the week. Said everything came together once the team arrived the stadium on gameday. Notes how many Alabama players got a chance to play on Saturday.
