Harris vs. Trump latest presidential poll: Who is ahead in polls? Numbers from 6 battleground states
With the presidential election two months away, the latest poll shows Vice President Kamala Harris leading former President Donald Trump by 2 percentage points. Other polls show an extremely tight race in six key battleground states – Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Nationally, a recent poll from YouGov for the Economist showed Harris as the choice for 47% of voters compared to 45% for Trump. The Democratic nominee remained the choice for most female, Black, Hispanic and voters aged 18-44. The Republican nominee polled stronger among male voters, white voters and voters ages 45 and older.
The poll was conducted Sept. 1-3 among 1,829 respondents with a margin of error of plus/minus 3.4 percentage points.
Nationally, FiveThirtyEight.com’s survey of major polls shows Harris at 47% and Trump at 43.9%.
Battleground states
Separate polls by CNN show tight races in six key battleground states. Harris holds an advantage over Trump among likely voters in Wisconsin and Michigan while Trump has the edge in Arizona. The two split three other states – Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania – where results are too close to call.

A significant percentage of voters remain undecided, however. The polls showed an average of 15% of likely voters said they have not yet firmly made their choice, meaning you could see a sizeable switch in the nine weeks before Election Day.
The CNN poll was conducted Aug. 23-29 among the six states with a margin of error of up to 4.9 percentage points.
