Southeast Alabama woman jailed on murder charges after body found in Geneva County

A southeast Alabama woman was arrested by special agents with the state Bureau of Investigation and charged with murder in connection with a body found in Geneva County, authorities said Thursday.

Joselina Elizabeth Lopez, 26, of Slocomb, is being held without bond in the Geneva County jail on a charge of first-degree murder, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said.

The SBI’s arrest came as the agency continued the death investigation it launched Tuesday after a body was found in the 1300 block of Grady Garner Road in Slocomb.

Confirmation of the dead person’s identity still remains pending.
